Nourished

A gentle 4‑week journey into trust, autonomy & connection around food

What if eating wasn’t about control, rules, or pressure - but about trust, presence, and deep connection?

What if you could support your child in the self‑demand approach of Aware Parenting, while also bringing healing into your own story around food?

Nourished is a 4‑week Aware Parenting journey into your relationship with food, your childhood experiences, your child’s natural ability to self‑regulate, and the family culture you want to create around nourishment.

This is not a program about “getting your child to eat.” It is a journey into connection, trust, autonomy, and safety - for both of you.

Who is this journey for?

For parents who notice that food brings up more than just “what shall we eat?” For parents who feel that food and mealtimes can touch old stories, feelings, fears, or patterns, and who long for more softness, trust, and connection in this part of family life.

For parents who:

  •  want to understand why food can bring up so many feelings, both in themselves and in connection with their child`s journey with food

  • want to trust their child’s natural rhythms, needs, and inner wisdom

  • want to bring healing to their own childhood experiences around food, bodies, and nourishment

  • want to move away from pressure, control, or worry, and into more understanding, presence, and clarity

  • want more connection and ease around food and during meals

  • want to support their child in having their own relationship with food, freer from old patterns

  • want to create a nourishing, safe family culture where food is about nourishment - on multiple levels - not tension

  • feel alone and/or unsure in this part of parenting and long for a gentle, supportive space

Whether you’re new to Aware Parenting or already familiar with it, you are welcome.

This journey is for anyone who wants to move toward more trust, autonomy, and connection - in themselves and in their child’s journey with food.

What we will explore together

Your own childhood experiences around food

the stories, memories, and feelings that shaped your early relationship with nourishment.

How these shape your parenting today

the ways old patterns, feelings, fears, or beliefs can quietly influence your responses to your child around food and mealtimes.

Your child’s natural ability to self‑regulate their food intake

the innate wisdom children carry when they are supported in trust, autonomy, and connection.

The possible underlying needs of certain eating habits

what may lie beneath “picky eating,” “not enough,” “too much,".

How to replace pressure with presence

moving from control or worry into attunement, clarity, and acceptance.

How to build a family culture of trust and connection

creating a nourishing environment where food becomes a moment of togetherness rather than tension.

How food can become a doorway into healing for you

allowing nourishment to be a path back to your own body, your own truth, your own guidance.

This journey is not about fixing or forcing anything, but about gently allowing change to unfold by bringing in more presence, softness, understanding, and connection.

Aware Parenting

This immersion carries the philosophy of Aware Parenting, created by Aletha Solter. The self‑demand approach is a part of Aware Parenting.

In Aware Parenting, our intention is to support our babies and children to stay connected to their bodies, their sensations, and their needs - always to the best of our ability, because we are human and learning.

I deeply love the trust Aware Parenting places in children when it comes to food. Babies and children are naturally drawn to the foods their bodies need. When we allow them to choose their own foods, they stay connected to their body’s signals and nutritional needs, and they are able to self‑regulate their food intake.

This journey is rooted in that trust - in your child’s wisdom, in your own capacity to meet them with presence, clarity, and connection, and in your ability to regain that connection for yourself as well.

A Mother’s Reflection

“Thank you for creating 'Nourished' and for holding and supporting me through the process of trusting my nearly 3 year old to make his own choices around food. It was so edgy and still is at times. You have helped me to confront my fears and to sit with them, you heard and saw my frustrations and my insecurities. You encouraged me to have a vision for the future: How do I want my child to relate to food and how do I want to relate to food. I feel liberated and lighter, not having to be the food police, not having to ensure 'they ate something decent', instead trusting that things will even out as I saw develop in our house. Even I have allowed myself treats and have judged myself less. I have come such a far way from restricting even fruits (counting out grapes) to trusting that my child can eat when they want and what they want (within what we provide in the house, and that is still our choice). This feels so healing for my own inner child, who experienced so much coercion and pressure around mealtimes. How wonderful that I am not passing this on to my child any longer. They don't have to eat the meal that I decided to cook and I decided the timing. They can choose their own. Thank you Vivian. This immersion was such a gift and I received my value many times over. I so highly recommend 'Nourished' to anyone who feels called to explore the self demand approach with their children of any age.

Thank you, Nadja”
